Yesterday I took an evening walk in the rain and decided to put on some music to listen to while walking. I had seen people praise this band called Black Midi, but I had ignored it since I'm not a big fan of talk singing. Anyway, I decided to put on Black Midi's album Schlagenheim and it was love at first listen. It just massaged my mind in a way that I can't explain. It was so raw, explosive and energetic and still managed to be complex. I had my eyes wide open all the time and probably creeped out some strangers passing by. I'm not a big fan of modern prog, but I have not been this blown away since I first heard Awaken by Yes this summer. I'm looking forward to check out Black Midi's other stuff.
