I'm on the rockier side of music, but I do not disdain a good wimpless pop tune.
My fav popsters are ABBA.....apart from the Agnetha eye candy , they were a real cool pop band with amazingly arranged songs and catchy lunes which did not fall into the wimpy bag like 90% of the pop acts today e.g. Lady Gaga (yukkkkk!!), Bieber, Timberlake, Sheeran, etc. Other cool wimpless pop acts are:

I like Stevie Wonder, Pink, and Adele. I also like Amy Winehouse but most of the time here songs are classified into Soul and R&B categories.
