Why do people say led Zep isn't metal? Where does it say on here they are????

I think It says it wouldn't exists, to me, that means they helped and influenced, not that they are.
please everyone share our thoughts and if all members knows about that then please tell us in comments

There is a discussion about this here. Led Zeppelin kindo predate metal as a genre which didn't really get going until the late 70's and early 80's, they are more blues based rock than heavy metal.
