Don Costa, Nikka Costa's late dad, the greatest arranger ever to walk the planet, once stated that "it's all in the arrangements and they make the big difference between a good song and a mediocre one". The melodic lines, harmony, basslines, lyrics, etc are important, but without good arrangements, there is always something missing in the end result.
