Definitely not, most if not all Prog bands are from Europe. If you asked if they were one of the first boy bands, I would probably agree.

I agree with Floyd. They were one of the more evolved surf boy bands with nothing prog about them....they indulged in some psychedelia in their later period with songs like Good Vibrations, Pet Sounds, etc. like many rock bands did way back when.
