sequence from Amboy Dukes - where else was it played?

Was it just too many bong hits as a kid, or am I correct that this Amboy Dukes lead guitar clip was also played by someone else...maybe Hendrix?
The link below should begin at 2:30 in the video; the sequence in question is the lead guitar for ten seconds (you can ignore everything after 2:40)
Also interested to hear from guitar players as to whether this sequence of notes is known to have some name and/or history.

I don't know what the riff is, who owns it or where it originates from but it does sound like a riff that crops up several times in the Allman brothers mountain jam with the late great Duane Allman and Dicky Betts on leads guitars.

Thanks for the pointer Floyd, that repeating riff starting at 22:30 does indeed use the first seven notes of the Amboy Dukes passage. Coulda sworn I heard the whole thing somewhere (again, might have been a Hendrix tune or somesuch).. or maybe I just indulged too much in my teens :)
