Difficult song to master, so many licks and diverse parts it's easy to lose focus and hit a clam, and although I learned this months ago, adding vocals adds a whole new level of difficulty! But, I'm beginning to really get Chris Squire's fills now and it feels like a real move up from the Beatles/Queen stuff I was doing!

Written by lead singer Jon Anderson, (about his uncomfortable ambivalent attitude towards organized religion) the song was released as a B-side to "Roundabout", but became a surprise hit in its own right as a staple of album-oriented rock radio. On Fragile it segues into "The Fish (Schindleria Praematurus)".

More and more fun all the time! Next are Yours is no Disgrace (already have the bass down), Onward, hard to figure out with all the overtones but I think I got it, without the "Rickenbacker Kiss", and Tempus Fugit, probably the hardest Squire bassline I've attempted.

Here's another one of the 3 Yessongs I'm working on. This is probably the easiest, I edited out some instrumental parts because it was 11:41 long but these are all the most difficult to play and they are COMPLETELY ridiculously counterpoint and countermelodies to the main melody I'm trying to sing, so a new level for me!!

This song is deceptively hard, you'd think just playing all half notes for nearly the entire song would be a breeze but its tough not to squelch in to a note and it took me 2 nights of takes to get it.

This is a beautiful song, Chris Squire said he considered it the best song he every wrote. Thank God for AI, it takes out the lead vocal and leaves the backing vocal, which is actually Chris and it's wonderfully fun to sing with.

Another interview I was reading (I always research the songs I do) Steve Howe said he came up on Squire in the rehearsal room and he was devising the exact arrangement on PIANO and Steve said 'Shouldn't you write it down?" and Chris said "No, I'll remember it."

Steve does an amaazing accompaniment of arpeggiated chords behind the bass movement that reallly ads 'texture' and the keys take over the part in places. Great band.

Deeply missed man. Great bassist, great composer, great singer, just all 'round great guy, I wish I could have known him. And so handsome! We miss you Chris!!!

The late great Chris Squire, certainly in my top five rock bass guitarists along with Entwhistle, Geddy Lee, Kilminster and Jack Bruce.
