Unless you're were stoned (we're talking Hawkwind gigs, so that's a possibility), you remember your first Hawkwind experience.

Funny I never needed to be stoned to appreciate HW .....for me, psychedelic rock is STONED impersonified ....no need for synthetic enhancement ....but to each his own, I guess

Hawkwind do have a 'drug' persona, it was mostly Acid at first, like a lot of bands at that time were experimenting with Acid and especially psychedelic music, the beatles with yellow Submarine and Lucy In The Sky with Damands is said to be an acronim for LSD and of course early Floyd. Legend has it that when Hawkwind played Paranoia from the first album live, people on acid ran out of the gig screaming. Then when Lemmy joined, he was into speed but when he left the Hawks became more into cannabis.
